Taking Hβ zeolite as catalyst, 4-methoxy-α-trichloromethyl benzyl alchol was synthesized by Friedel-Crafts hydroxyalkylation. The effects of reaction time, reaction temperature, catalyst dosage on the catalytic activity were systematically investigated. The optimum reaction conditions are: the reaction time is 8 h, the reaction temperature is 70℃, catalyst dosage is 3.0 g. Under the optimum reaction conditions, the conversion rate of anisole is 45.0%, selectivity of 4-methoxy-αtrichloromethyl benzyl alchol is 94.0%.
