To ensure the surrounding rock stability of shallow buried large section roadway, the auxiliary haulage road in the No. 5 mining area of Huangshan Mine was selected as the study area. The joint fissures and thickness variations of the roof strata were analyzed using borehole observations. Based on the natural equilibrium arch theory, the key support parameters were calculated, and a support scheme for shallow buried large section roadway was proposed. Numerical simulations were conducted to analyze the distribution of the plastic zone, stress, and displacement characteristics of the surrounding rock under the support scheme. Mine pressure monitoring results indicated that the deformation of the surrounding rock remained within safe limits, demonstrating the overall effectiveness of the support scheme.
