During the mining of close distance coal seams, the water accumulation in the goaf formed after the mining of the upper coal seam was one of the main factors that threatened the safe mining of the lower coal seam. In view of the blindness of the traditional prevention and control methods of water accumulation in goaf, the amount of work was usually large. According to the specific situation that No.28206 Face and No.29206 Face of Dongqu Mine were close-distance coal seam mining, this paper proposed to reserve drainage drilling holes during the mining of No.28206 Face, monitor and orderly drain the water in the goaf of the low-lying area of the working face. And finally the safe mining of the lower No.29206 Face was ensured, which provided experience for the prevention and control of water accumulation in goaf of similar close-distance coal seam groups.
