Abstract: In view of the different characteristics of caving cavity and spalling range after exposing the fault in the 5.5 m thick coal seam of Shangshe Coal, the grouting materials with different performance indexes were used for comprehensive grouting treatment in different regions. In view of the special geological conditions such as thick exposed coal seam, large mining height ( ≥ 5.5 m ), easy spalling and roof fall, the grouting pressure and other parameters were dynamically optimized to adapt to the particularity of large mining height coal wall, adjust the technical parameters such as grouting sequence, and control the extension range of disasters in fully mechanized mining face. The application results showed that the integrity of the coal wall of the working face was enhanced, the loose coal and rock mass was consolidated and compacted, and the roof beam of the support quickly constructed the regenerated cemented false roof support layer, which enhanced the destructive impact of the roof re-caving on the working face support, and created a safe working environment for the timely moving support operation after the shearer drum cutting. The application prospect of this process was broad, and the economic and social benefits were obvious.
