During period of mining in 63上04 large height mining face, Dongtan Coal Mine occurred phenomenon of crowded hydraulic support in working face because of syncline structure, water spraying in the roof, the large mining height and heavy equipment, which brought great difficulties to normal production. Through analyzing the reasons comprehensively, technical proposal of using side guard cooperate with monomer to adjust hydraulic supports was put forward and problem of crowded hydraulic support in working face was completely solved. Its impressive implementation effect provided valuable experience to development of fully mechanized coal mining in large cutting height.
