The production of nitric acid and the discharge of nitrogen oxides were summaried,the harm, the national discharge standard and the related policies and regulations about NOx were introduced,the influence factors of NOx discharge amounts in nitric acid tail gas were analyzed,and from production practical experience,the nitrogen oxides treatment technology was reviewed.It was put forward that the advanced dual-pressure nitric acid process should be instead of atmospheric- pressure method,through adjusting the concentration of nitric acid and reducing absorption temperature and other operating parameters, the selective catalytic reduction method was adopted to control nitrate nitrogen oxide  thereby realizing the nitrogen oxides discharge according with standard.
