In order to evaluate the separation performance of super dense medium cyclone under industrial conditions, the super dense medium cyclone of No.1 and No.2 systems in Guobei Coal Preparation Plant was taken as the research object, and the single-machine sampling and separation test was carried out in the main plant. Through the large and small screening and large and small float-and-sink tests of raw coal and separation products in No.1 system, the particle size composition, float-and-sink characteristics and washability curves of raw coal were obtained. On this basis, the actual feeding of the two systems and the density of clean coal, medium coal and gangue products were measured, and the yield, distribution rate and the first and second mismatches of the separation products were calculated. The results show that the study of raw coal has certain separation potential, and the super dense medium cyclone can achieve more effective density separation. Different systems have certain differences in sorting stability and mismatch characteristics. Mismatches are mainly concentrated in the intermediate density range and specific particle size range. The research results can provide reference for the optimization of operation parameters of super dense medium cyclone and the stable operation of separation system in coal preparation plant.
