In order to effectively prevent and control the risk of water outburst from the karst confined aquifer in the floor of No.31108 Face of Gaoyang Coal Mine and realize the safe mining of the working face, through in-depth analysis of the geological and hydrogeological conditions of the working face, a structural abnormal area and four low-resistance abnormal areas were found out in the working face by using radio wave tunnel perspective and transient electromagnetic exploration technology, and then verified by drilling. The exploration showed that the structural abnormal area was caused by the Z1 collapse column. It was found that the long axis of the collapse column was 210 m, the short axis was 90 m, and there was no water conduction. The four low resistivity abnormal areas were not caused by the conduction of coal seam and the floor Ordovician karst confined aquifer. According to the exploration results, the safe mining of No.31108 Face was finally realized by means of accelerating the advancing speed, strengthening the roof support and strengthening the safety quality of the coal mining face when the working face was passing through the fault and the collapse column, which pointed out the direction for the prevention and control of the floor confined aquifer water of the mine.
