In view of the fact that platinum nitrate solution, the precursor of automotive exhaust three-way catalysts, which plays an important role in the effect of automotive exhaust catalysts, can not be stored for a long time and its chemical properties of platinum nitrate solution change to form turbidity and precipitation, the synthesis of the platinum solution for automotive three-way catalysts is mainly studied from the control of impurity ions, the improvement of yield and the stability of platinum solution. The experimental results show that Cl- can be effectively removed by low temperature cooling reaction with a yield of over 90%. Na+ can be removed by soaking and washing with 0.001 mol/L HNO3, which can reduce Na+ in HPA to less than 0.5% and meet the production requirements. When the concentration of dissolved acid is 4.5-6.5 mol/L and the reaction temperature is 50 - 70℃, the particle size of the solution can remain stable.
