Abstract Aiming at the problems of serious deformation and maintenance difficulties of reuse roadway in Chengzhuang Mine, deep-hole blasting pressure relief technology of roof plate was proposed to cut off the cantilever beam structure in the mining area and weaken the continuous effect of the overlying rock layer on the coal column of the section; the parameters of the roof plate blasting holes were determined by combining with the investigation of geological conditions at the site. Through the monitoring of the deformation of the reused roadway, the convergence amount of both sides and top and bottom slabs in the reused roadway showed a significant decrease after the completion of construction, indicating that the pressure relief technology of deep-hole polyenergy blasting of the roof plate effectively controlled the harmful deformation of the reused roadway and provided a new means to control the surrounding rock under similar conditions in the mine.
