Abstract The 30202 working face of Mudu Chaideng Mine was taken as the engineering background, the advantages and disadvantages and applicability of conventional anti-scouring and local pressure relief measures were compared, it was analyzed and determined that the working face adopted conventional large-diameter pressure relief measures. Through further analysis by numerical simulation, the large-diameter pressure relief parameters were optimized, and six different pressure relief parameters were designed for comparative analysis, mainly from the perspectives of plastic failure area and vertical stress. Numerical simulation results showed that Option 5 (hole spacing 0.75 m, aperture 153 mm) and Option 6 (hole spacing 0.75 m, aperture 200 mm) can connect the plastic zone between the two boreholes to achieve the purpose of pressure relief, combined with site construction efficiency and construction cost and other factors, finally option 5 was taken as the normal pressure relief parameters of the working face to ensure safe production on site.
