Abstract In view of the lack of emergency power supply for mine industrial load and the poor emergency response capability of electric power emergencies, Yushupo Coal Mine decided to increase its own emergency power supply. In this paper, according to the actual situation of Yushupo Coal Mine, the type of self-provided emergency power supply is selected, and the selection calculation of generator set is carried out according to the actual load and other information. Finally, two diesel generator sets with power of 2 400 kW/3 000 kVA are selected. Through the actual test, the emergency power supply diesel generator set designed in this paper runs well, which can ensure the normal operation of the important power load in Yushupo Coal Mine under the condition of sudden power failure, achieve the expected purpose, and ensure the safe and efficient production of Yushupo Coal Mine.
