Abstract As an important role of precision leveling system, leveling ruler is widely used in high precision leveling and other surveying and mapping fields. According to the current national standard verification regulations, this paper evaluated the uncertainty of the verticality between the central axis of the invar leveling ruler and the bottom surface of the ruler (abbreviated as bottom verticality ). Three sources of uncertainty were analyzed, and the uncertainty of the bottom verticality was obtained, which provided an important basis for the verification of the leveling ruler.
