Abstract Aiming at the problem of sprocket wear of SGB620 / 40 T scraper conveyor in Hexi Coal Mine, the model of sprocket and ring chain was established by means of ANSYS finite element simulation analysis method, and the cause analysis of sprocket wear was carried out. The results show that the stress concentration of the chain socket is the main reason for the wear of the sprocket. By analyzing the total deformation of the sprocket in the working process, it is concluded that the sprocket tooth breakage fault is easy to occur when the sprocket socket wears greatly, and the optimization strategy is proposed.
