Abstract For the raw gas mixing link of gas heat storage and oxidation system, the concentration of gas and air after mixing exceeds the design value, and out of limit gas mixture enters the high-temperature heat storage oxidation device, explosion accidents will occur if the concentration is within the explosion range. The concept of redundant fault-tolerant was put forward, the basic level of system safety technology was studied, and the concept, classification, architecture and design of safety instrument system were comprehensively analyzed and demonstrated. Redundant fault-tolerant technology is applied in dangerous working conditions, and can reach the safety integrity level, and meet the safety requirements of emergency shutdown of the whole system, it’s suitable for similar projects, and has high engineering value.
