Abstract The coal seam is replaced by river sandstone. in the scouring range of ancient rivers, and the change of its water content will seriously affect the safe mining, while the scouring action will cause the coal seam to become thin or even missing, which directly affects the reserves of the recoverable coal seam in the scouring range and the layout of the mining area roadway. A mine in Inner Mongolia was taken as an example, and the feasibility of using multiple methods were discussed in 3D seismic exploration to comprehensively circle the scouring area.
