| Simulation study of groundwater contaminant transportation based on visual modflow software |

Abstract Based on the hydrogeological characteristics of the study area, a numerical groundwater model was constructed using Visual Modflow software to analyze the groundwater contaminant transport law in the study area and to simulate and predict the contaminant transport trajectory. The prediction results showed that the diffusion range of contaminants changed from the initial near-circular to near-elliptical shape, and the long-axis direction was consistent with the flow direction. The concentration of pollutants reached the boundary value after 5,000 d of transport. The simulation results provided a scientific basis for the environmental evaluation and preventive measures of groundwater in the study area.
