In order to ensure safe production during the initial mining of the 8101 fully mechanized face in Tongxin Mine, according to the coal seam conditions in Tongxin Mine, it was proposed to use pre-mining, high-level drilling, ground drilling, and upper corner. Comprehensive gas management technology combined with buried pipe extraction was adopted. After using this technology, the gas concentration in the upper corner was reduced from 0.75% to 0.1%. Among them, the drainage measures on the ground and the buried pipe in the upper corner were effective, reducing the gas concentration in the upper corner by 0.2%. At the initial stage of surface mining, the gas concentration at the upper corner was maintained at 0.3% to 0.5%, and the gas concentration at the working surface was between 0.1% and 0.3%, which effectively prevented the problem of gas overrun during mining and ensured the safe mining of the working surface.
