Abstract The 2129 working face of Xingdong Mine is the last coal pillar recovery working face at the -980 level 2100 mining area. It belongs to the isolated island working face. The working face conditions are complicated, with many faults and old roadways during the excavation and mining. Water accident occurred during the mining of adjacent working faces. The technical measures such as strengthened support through faults were adopted, getting through the row of wood stacks in old roadway, and hydraulic fracturing roof pressure relief, which ensured the mining safety of the 2129 working face
