Abstract A large number of goafs left behind after the closure of small coal mines are prone to induce various geological disasters such as ground collapse, ground fissures, earthquakes, collapses, landslides, mudslides, etc., with serious safety hazards. Prevention of secondary geological disasters caused by cave-in of goaf has become one of the main tasks after the closure of small coal mines. Xingcai Mine in Xingtai city was taken as an example, under the premise of on-site investigation, combined with relevant geological data, through the characteristics of time section and seismic attributes of the goaf, the distribution range of the goaf was studied, and the distribution of the goaf was determined, which provided reference for the next step in the monitoring and prevention of the goaf.
