Abstract In order to prevent No. 13 coal seam spontaneous combustion in Xiegou Mine, spontaneous ignition test simulating spontaneous combustion of the coal seam, temperature variation rule was studied by analyzing 23107 working face coal sample, parameters like minimum natural ignition period, critical temperature, dry crack temperature and active temperature were settled, the test result showed that coal sample temperature rising fastened its oxidation rate, when coal sample temperature lowered than stagnation temperature, the oxidation rate got slow, when coal sample temperature larger than stagnation temperature, the oxidation rate got fast, when coal sample temperature larger than dryness temperature, oxidation rate increases significantly. The temperature of gas marker in the coal spontaneous combustion was used to predict the degree of coal spontaneous ignition, providing reference for fire prevention and control in Xiegou Mine.
