Commonly waste piles spontaneous combustion induced by the store of coal waste piles and extensive management, seriously affects the ecological balance and atmospheric environment around the mining area., based on this problem, formation mechanism of the coal waste piles was discussed, according to the actual situation of Yungang Mine coal  waste piles, mainly with drilling grouting, subsidiary with loess cover, the technology controlled waste piles spontaneous combustion and improved the mine economic benefit.
