Abstract The chemical properties and applications of adipic acid and the four main methods of synthesizing adipic acid from different materials were introduced. The advantages and disadvantages of these processes were compared and analyzed. According to the synthetic technology of adipic acid at home and abroad, the development trend of adipic acid synthesis technology is prospected.
