Abstract Affected by Special surrounding rock structure and complex mining stress field, with non-linear mechanical characteristics in large section recovery roadway mining, the damage and deformation with obviously non-uniform feature, roadway damage starts from the key part and develops, causing non-uniform deformation and instability in the whole roadway. Based on the damage features, the mechanical mechanism was studied to give effective surrounding rock control measures and support plan, with obvious engineering effect.
