| Theoretical analysis and application of coal pillar preserve in Selian second coal mine |

Abstract According to geological conditions of Selian second coal mine, methods of limit equilibrium theory, numerical simulation and field practice were used to analyze limit equilibrium section width of coal and vertical stress, the maximum principal stress and distribution of the columns at different coal pillar sizes, which determined reserved width of coal pillar was 12.0m. The measured results showed that stress state of surrounding rock was improved by size of coal pillar, top and bottom of roadway and deformation of two groups were controlled effectively, which provided technical reference for coal pillar preserve in similar conditions.
