Abstract Through comprehensive analysis of field hydrogeological conditions and Jin Gou Mine area, 7 layer aquifers were divided within the scope of mine, and main aquifers threatening safety mining included: Quaternary Holocene rushed-diluvial gravel stone layer, Lower Jurassic Taliqike Formation Lower No.5 coal seam roof-confined aquifer, Lower Jurassic Taliqike Formation Lower No.9 coal seam roof-confined aquifer, Lower Jurassic Taliqike Formation Lower No.10 coal seam roof-confined aquifer. Based on big well method and catchment corridor method, the west and the east mining field +1 300 m elevation mine water inflow were calculated respectively. Water inflows of initial mining field in western mining Lower No.5 and No.10 coal seam were predicted as 209.77 m3 / d and 338.29 m3 / d respectively. Water inflows of initial mining field in eastern mining Lower No.5 and No.10 coal seam were predicted as 1 441.21 m3 / d and 1 411.68 m3 / d respectively. Based on hydrogeological conditions of mining area, water control measures of advanced water exploration, water dropping decompression, reserved coal pillar and so on were summarized.
