Abstract Based on specific fully mechanized caving working face conditions, basic support, roadway support, strengthening support of gob-side entry retaining were designed specifically. High water quick-setting material was adopted, the structure of filling body, packing bags were designed to make the strength of filling body at 12 MPa, which met the needs of work. Tip without coal support design was adopted in roadway support strengthening, ZTC30000/25/50 of the hydraulic support was finally settled. The result showed that the design could control the gob-side entry retaining and provid reference for other deep shaft gob-side entry retaining design.
