Abstract In view of the problem of overhanging roof and roadway deformation caused by the thick sandstone roof of No.360606 Face of Xinji No. 1 Mine, the mechanical properties of the rock at the site combined with the combined rock breaking mechanism of the stress wave of pre-cracking blasting and blasting gas were analyzed, and the numerical simulation of the blast hole spacing and the on-site mine pressure observation were carried out, and the results showed that among the four groups of different blast hole spacing, the blasting effect was best at the 5000 mm blast hole spacing, and the stress wave formed a superposition effect in the middle region, which could achieve the predetermined blasting effect, and the cracks in the direction of the blast hole connection line continued to expand. Vertical expansion tended to stop. After the implementation of roof cutting technology, the displacement of the roof was reduced by 74%, the displacement of the coal pillar was reduced by 83%, the displacement of the mining gang was reduced by 71%, and the displacement of the floor was reduced by 62%, which verified the improvement effect of the optimization of the blast hole spacing parameter on the stability of the roadway during the roof cutting and pressure relief of pre-cracking blasting.
