Abstract In order to solve the problem of difficult identification of coal field collapse column in Qinshui area, the No.DX5 collapse column exposed by three-dimensional seismic interpretation and mining in Libi Mine was taken as the research object. Based on the basic data of seismic exploration, drilling, field exposure and comprehensive geological research results, the spatial distribution of DX5 collapse column in the study area was qualitatively explained based on seismic time profile interpretation technology and attribute feature analysis technology. The results showed that the attribute technology ( especially the bandwidth attribute ) was better than the conventional seismic profile interpretation technology in identifying the collapse column of Libi Mine. The method was reliable and effective, which provided a technical basis for the identification and interpretation of collapse columns in Qinshui area.
