| Structure and thermal stability of palmitic acid |

Abstract The palmitic acid moleculars tructure had been studied by one-dimensional infrared (IR) spectrum.The experimental results showed that there were ν■, ν■, ν■, ν■, δ■, ρ■ and ω■. One-dimensional temperature- dependent infrared (TD-IR) spectrum of palmitic acid were studied also for the thermal stability of palmitic acid. With the increase of the temperature (303 ~ 393 K), the infrared absorption intensity and frequency of palmitic acid changed obviously, and the 333 ~ 343 K was a critical temperature.Meanwhile, the mechanism was studied also. The study demonstrated the key roles of one-dimensional IR spectrum and one-dimensional TD-IR spectrumin in the analysis of the structure and thermal stability of the important fine chemicals (palmitic acid).
