Methanation is the last procedure to synthesize methane in commercial unit of coal to gas，the duration of the unit startup directly affects the economics of the whole production system.Based on the commissioning and many times of high load running of the methanation unit for the first domestic set of coal to gas industrial project, the startup time of methanation unit was analyzed from the respects of startup procedures, process, organization of workers. According to these results, the optimized programme of startup procedure for methanation unit was proposed to improve the economical efficiency for startup system.
