Based on the production and geology condition of 1523 fully-mechanized face in Gequan Mine, with the large inclination angle 27°~41°, the mechanical analysis for anti-skid and anti-collapse of hydraulic support in condition of unsupported roof and sliding advance of support were conducted. The important influence factors of support slide and dumping and proposed stability control measures including installation device for anti-skid and anti-collapse, improvement mining technology, reinforcement regulations and so on were concluded. Production practice showed that the frequency of support slant decreased from 26% to 8% and the frequency of top-face over 0.3 m roof fall height decreased from 62% to 21% after the application of stability control measures.
