The determination of chloride content in high purity barium nitrate by silver nitrate turbidimetric method was introduced. The sample was dissolved by distilled water and then hydrogen peroxide was added in order to oxide the sulfide to barium sulfate precipitation which was removed through dry filter in order to avoid the interference of sulfur in the determination of chloride content and solve the problem of the higher detecting value of chloride in determintion of chloride content by general method. This method had the advantages of good precision and high accuracy, and the determination results were satisfactory.
