The passivation wastewater generated during the tank passivation process presents a significant challenge in the petroleum and chemical industry's wastewater treatment. The wastewater treatment facility at the company adopted a strategy of receiving the passivation liquid in batches. It was co-treated by blending with oily wastewater, while the biochemical system was enhanced by adding autotrophic nitrifying bacteria and aerobic reinforcement bacteria. By gradually increasing the blending ratio of the passivation liquid, the facility successfully achieved the harmless treatment of 4,380 metric tons of passivation liquid. Throughout the treatment period, the wastewater treatment system operated stably, maintaining a 100% compliance rate of the effluent quality. The practical experience gained from the project provided a valuable reference for the treatment of passivation liquid wastewater within the petroleum and chemical industry.
