The lovastatin gel matrix sustained-release tablets were prepared by wet granulation squash method with hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose(HPMC)as matrix material, and the influences of viscosity, the quantity and specification of HPMC and other excipients on the release rates were examined. Through experiment, HPMC-K4M was determined as retarder, and 5%PVP solution as bond. The formulation was optimized with orthogonal test method and validate the preparation method; The proportion of lovastain was selected to HPMC was 1∶2, and to lactobiose was 1∶8. The release of the sustained-release tables could stably last 12 hours. The formulation was appropriate, and the preparation process was feasible. The sustained-release tables had good and stable release rate.
