At present, about ten million tons of chlorophenols waste water discharge into water bodies every year in our country. It has practical significance to study the photocatalyst degradation of chlorophenols wastewater because chlorophenols belong to toxic substances. The experimental studies showed that different properties of activated carbon were prepared through treating activated carbon adopting different methods;the adsorption rate of activated carbon through the oxidation treatment was higher than without the oxidation treatment;in aqueous solution, 3-chlorophenol could be degraded by oxidized activated carbon under ultraviolet light.
