Abstract： With the increasing number of abandoned mines in China, the redevelopment and utilization of abandoned mines is very important. In this paper, the working principle, advantages and economic benefits of pumped storage are studied, and the feasibility of constructing pumped storage power station in abandoned mines is analyzed. The above analysis shows the use of abandoned mines to build pumped storage power stations not only forms a new energy structure, but also becomes a lasting and effective way to use abandoned coal mine resources, which is the best choice for the resource utilization of abandoned coal mines.
