Thermal plasma technology is a high-tech used to deal with the problem of waste pollution, which has also received great attention in the field of hazardous waste treatment in recent years. This paper introduces the application progress of thermal plasma technology in the melting and vitrification of waste incineration fly ash, and discusses the mechanism and main influencing factors of thermal plasma melting and vitrification. After vitrification melting treatment through thermal plasma, the heavy metals in the fly ash are effectively solidified, the toxic and harmful organic substances are effectively decomposed, and the slag has a dense structure, which shows a good potential for resource utilization. However, the problems of Cl- corrosion and high energy consumption are still urgent to be solved in the process of industrial utilization of thermal plasma fly ash melting technology.
