In the process of top coal uncovering in 172402 crosscut of Dashucun Mine of Jizhong Energy Fengfeng Group, in view of the traditional U36 steel support and the difficulty and high risk of erecting U steel during large slope excavation, the mine studied that before each cycle of construction, all-round advance grouting and advance metal bolts were set on the roadway roof to form an artificial false roof, small cycle excavation and high-strength anchor mesh interlocking support were adopted, and the coal uncovering was completed in a gradual cycle. The application results showed that after adopting the progressive arrangement of long and short anchors, the coal supporting section was firmly lifted to the stable rock stratum, ensuring that each small cycle was excavated under the cover of safety. Within 3 months after the completion of 172402 material handling crosscut construction, only one anchor cable failed, meeting the design requirements. Within 3 months, the maximum deformation of roadway surrounding rock was 30 mm, which was within the allowable range of the design, and the roadway top wall was not cracked. The roadway support effect was good, and the roof leakage and gas accidents during coal support were eliminated.
