Based on the characteristics of strata movement, abutment stress distribution and coal mine disasters under different mining velocity, the research progress of mining velocity’s impact on pressure behavior was discussed. Furthermore, it was also proposed that the impact of mining velocity on pressure behavior was essentially result of the interaction between different loading rates and rock deformation rates. So in the future, it’s very necessary to study mechanical properties of rocks, rock damage, acoustic emission rate and energy changes under different loading rates through mechanical tests.
