Based on complex geological conditions in 5301 working face of Shanhou Mine, a large amount of coal was wasted in goaf, with hidden fire disster, the width of three belts was settled, the comprhensive fire prevention and control technology was adopted.  The result showed that analogism could be adopted to judge goaf width with corresponding fire prevention and control technology in same coal seam with similar geological conditions.
