Based on the problem of energy consumption of belt conveyor, Taiyuan Dongshan Dongfeng Mining Industry was taken as background, energy saving method of belt conveyor was studied, with the introduction of overall structure, power saving of belt conveyor at different filling rates was analyzed. The result showed that no-load enabled to realize energy saving by reduce the belt speed, with the saving energy rate 70.41%, the belt speed was changed to realize energy saving, the filling rate in 20% ~ 40%, with the saving rate 52.99% ~ 60.22%.
