Taking the common storage way of liquid ammonia "tank storage" as an example, the type selection and calculation of the storage tank safety valve were discussed. The type of safety valve was selectd based on six aspects, corrosivity of discharge medium, fire hazard, phase behavior, the maximum operating pressure, discharge temperature and discharge back pressure fluctuation, and connection way, the calculation processes of the offline pressure and import diameter of safety valve were gave, thereby providing a reference for similar storage tank safety valve.
