This paper introduced a coal mine safety monitoring system based on IP network system, the system was divided into underground monitoring terminal and server. Underground embedded monitoring terminal took the AD companies BF561 as a foundation, implementing the embedded audio and video collection and compression, environmental parameter acquisition and network transmission. The environmental parameters acquisition and audio and video monitoring perfectly combined, realizing the comprehensive monitoring of the coal mine. The system had strong management function,  not only security monitoring, but also production management.
