Based on the actual situation of a project, a degassing device is used to remove radiolysis gases from the main coolant system. The brief description of the degasser，both about the fundamental principles and design methods were introduced. According to the basic law of chemical industry, and refering to the similar equipment in related industries, the degasser was designed. The degasser has compact, structure, and is safe and reliable, can ensure the full release of gases dissolved in the water, and separate the mixed gases from the gas-liquid medium at the same time. All of this is convenient for the follow treatment and emission of the gases.
