Research Progress of Acetylene Method to Synthesize Vinyl Acetate Catalysts

The present research progress of acetylene method to prepare zinc acetate/activated carbon catalysts was summarized, including the active components of catalyst, features of catalyst support, catalyst promoter, catalytic reaction mechanism, deactivation reasons of catalyst and so on. The development process of catalyst in the active component of Zn salt was introduced, the influences of catalyst activated carbon carrier physical structure, surface functional groups and surface unpaired electrons on the catalytic performance were analyzed, and the modulation of additive on the stability and activity of the catalyst was briefly described. The mechanisms of three kinds of catalytic reaction were compared, the deactivation reasons of catalyst were summarized. It is pointed out that zinc acetate/carbon carrier catalyst will be the future research direction.
