In order to better exploit and utilize the oil sands, take asphaltenes in oil sand in an oil field in Xinjiang province as the research object,the pyrolysis of asphaltenes after separation and purification was studied; the transform rule of asphaltenes was explored. The results show that using ultrasonic oscillation can accelerate releasing the inclusions in asphaltenes, thus curtailing the extraction and purification time; the content change of three kinds of impontant substances, hydrocarbon, gas and coke in asphaltenes is closely related to temperature and time; thermal cracking of asphaltenes has an obvious characteristics of first-order kinetics, that is with the increasing of temperature, time is gradually shortened, and the entire apparent rate constant shows a trend of increase.
