In the engineering design of ammonia synthesis gas production from coke oven gas via partial oxidation process, various calculation methods are employed. A comparative analysis was conducted between the trial error method in manual algorithms and the Aspen Plus algorithm (new version V14) for partial oxidation process calculations. The computational programs and results demonstrate that Aspen Plus is a chemical process simulation software developed based on fundamental principles and methodologies of chemical engineering calculations, exhibiting distinct advantages in technological advancement and adaptability. Comparative analysis reveals that the Aspen Plus algorithm still has significant potential for development, offering faster processing speeds, higher accuracy, and broader applicability.
