In order to solve the problem of high concentrated stress relief in coal seam with rock burst, an efficient pressure relief technology of hydraulic reaming and cutting in coal seam was proposed, and the factors causing rock burst in No.401103 Face of Mengcun Mine were studied. The results showed that the static load in coal seam was the basic condition to induce rock burst, and the high concentrated stress reduced the threshold of rock burst. The strength and integrity of coal seam were greatly reduced by hydraulic reaming and cutting pressure relief treatment in hard coal seam in advance. Under the hydraulic reaming and cutting operation, the accumulated energy in the coal seam was greatly reduced, the stress was maintained at a low level, the accumulated energy of the surrounding rock was released in an orderly manner, and the impact risk was significantly reduced.
