Coal seam roof sandstone water had always been a major hidden danger affecting mine safety production. In the first mining face of Tangjiahui Mine, the roof bedding long boreholes and common through-layer boreholes were combined in structural design, plane and space layout, which achieved the comprehensive three-dimensional rapid advance drainage technology of sandstone water in coal seam, and reached the drainage goal of safe production. In addition, through the drainage experiment, the change curve of attenuation coefficient was studied, and the drainage process was divided into three stages. It was concluded that the sandstone water of No.6 coal roof in Tangjiahui mining area had the characteristics of static reserves, weak recharge and drainage, which provided valuable experience for future safe mining.
